Soil Pollution

Soil Pollution is made by human-made chemicals and others changes in the present natural soil environment. Beyond every inch under the ground, it was the largest part of the water we drink and we use to produce all the food we need. One of the major pollution is cause by chemicals like herbicides and pesticides. A good condition of soil can guarantee the growth of good quality of crop, but what if the basic of the soil is not even in a good condition ?
Pollutants can impact everywhere. Soil pollution is making by many activities and experiments done by man-kind. Like industries waste, such as harmful gases and chemicals, agricultural pesticides, fertilizers and insecticides are the most important causes of soil pollution.

The intensity of all these causes on a local or regional level might appear very small and you may argue that soil is not harmed by above activities if done on a small scale! However, thinking globally, it is not your region or my place that will be the only sufferer of soil pollution. In fact, it is the entire planet and mankind that will encounter serious problems, as these practices are evident almost everywhere in the world.

The effects of pollution on soil are quite alarming and can cause huge disturbances in the ecological balance and health of living creatures on earth. We loss of soil and natural nutrients present in it. Plants also would not thrive in such a soil, which would further result in soil erosion. Disturbance in the balance of flora and fauna residing in the soil. Generally crops cannot grow and flourish in a polluted soil. Yet if some crops manage to grow, then those would be poisonous enough to cause serious health problems in people consuming them. Soil pollutants would bring in alteration in the soil structure, which would lead to death of many essential organisms in it. This would also affect the larger predators and compel them to move to other places, once they lose their food supply.
Soil pollution can be cured by transporting the contaminated soil layer to some remote place, thus making it once again fit for use. Harmful chemicals from the soil can also be removed by aerating it. These are just 'tentative solutions'. However, let us remember the proverb, 'prevention is better than cure' and follow soil management system, maintain sewage systems and avoid the overuse of fertilizers and pesticides in the soil.

Noise Pollution ~

Noise Pollution or Sound Pollution is when the exposure of people or animals to levels of sounds that are annoying, stressful, or damaging to the ears. Although loud and frightening sounds are part of nature, only in recent centuries has much of the world become urban, industrial, and chronically noisy.

Nowadays, most of the noise pollution comes from machines, especially automobiles, trucks, and aircraft. Construction equipment, farm machines, and the din of machinery inside factories can be dangerously loud. Some home appliances, shop tools, lawnmowers, and leaf blowers can also be noisy, as are guns, firecrackers, and some toys. Even music, when played at very high volume, particularly through personal headphones, is as damaging to the ears as a roaring chain saw.

In all of the sources of noise pollution, street traffic is the most prevalent and perhaps damaging source of noise pollution. Noise that is emitted by street traffic is generated by engines, exhaust systems, tires interacting with the road, and horns.

The effects of noise pollution are including hearing loss, non-auditory physiological effects, sleep disruption, annoyance, communication interference, and other effects.

In the conclusion, the best way to avoid noise pollution is to reduce noise and reduce pollution. First of all, we can try to discuss with the person who creating the noise. In the other hand, we can try to cycling if the distant is not that far. Lastly, carpooling has always been a good solution but it never actually materializes here in Malaysia so from now on we can try to carpooling.

Light Pollution

Nowadays, environment issues are negative aspects of human activity on the biophysical   environment. The pollutions are getting more serious nowadays; there are few types of pollutions such as light pollution, water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and also radioactive pollution.

In most of the world’s large urban centres, stargazing is something that happens at a planetarium. But when artificial outdoor lighting becomes inefficient, annoying, and unnecessary, it is known as light pollution.  Many environmentalists, naturalists, and medical researchers consider light pollution to be one of the fastest growing and most pervasive forms of environmental pollution.

There are several causes of light pollution, including over illumination, sky glow, glare, clutter and light trespass.Over illumination is the use of artificial light beyond its specified purpose. The main causes of light pollution are  the street lamps and security lights found in suburban areas, and lit signs and lit commercial        buildings in urban areas. Most of the lights from these are wasted and go straight up into the sky. As we all know, the sky doesn’t need to be lit up at night.

Bright electric lights can also affect the inhibition of birds. There are many types of birds that use to fly in the night and especially during inclement weather with low cloud cover, they normally are confused during passage by brightly lit buildings, communication towers, and other concrete structures. “Light attracts birds and disorients them,” explains Michael Mesure.

To prevent this light pollution, as a human being we should lend a hand to help survive our only one earth.
We can use the minimum level of illumination necessary to light a property.
Besides that, the bulkhead or porch lights are cheaper than security lights, it use less energy, and have reduced glare. We can also try to do activities requiring a light during the day time, and use the time to sleep.

We should take responsible to our Earth. So let's put effort on it NOW!

Air Pollution

Air pollution occurs when the air contains gases, dust, or fumes  in harmful amounts. That is amounts which could be harmful to the health or comfort of humans and animals or which could cause damage to plants and materials.

It is the contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical, physical or biological agent that cause harm or discomfort to humans or other living organisms, or cause damage to the natural environment or built environment into the atmosphere.

However, household combustion devices, motor vehicles, industrial facilities and forest fires are the common sources of air pollution. There are several main causes of air pollution, one of the main causes of air pollution is manufacturing. This source of pollution spews particulate matter and chemicals into the atmosphere. The exhaust from a factory includes, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and dioxide, as well as volatile organic compounds and particulates.

Air pollution is the problems that we all need to be concerned and be responsible about it, it can cause long-term and short-term health effects. It's found that the elderly and young children are more affected by air pollution. Short-term health effects include eye, nose, and throat irritation, headaches, allergic reactions, and upper respiratory infections. Some long-term health effects are lung cancer, brain damage, liver damage, kidney damage, heart disease, and respiratory disease.

Human activities have been highlighted as the major causes of air pollution, especially in the cities. Causes of air pollution includes vehicles, domestic smoke and heating, aircraft pollution, outdoor fires, and incineration of waste.

In conclusion, air pollution can be prevent by the effort of human being with some actions. For example, we can refuel the car in the evening instead of during the day, when heat allows emissions in the air and from gas to form ground-level ozone or avoid purchasing products that come in aerosol spary cans; try solid, gel and liquid forms instead. Human being should be responsible to help and prevent the air pollution in order to create a nice quality of air for everyone in the world.

Environment Pollution

Water Pollution

Water pollution is one of the problems in environment pollution that we still cannot neglect and have to facing nowadays. Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or use or lives in it. When human drink polluted water, it often has serious effects on their health because the polluted water is unfit, unhealthy, and dangerous for drinking.
I believe that everyone of us known about the important of water such as use it to drink, take bath, washing, cooking, swimming and for other consumption process. The end word of this is we cannot live without water!
But, usually water pollution caused by human activities such as sewage and waste water, marine dumping, industrial waste, radioactive waste, oil pollution, underground storage leakages and other. They still not consciousness with the environment pollution and keep on repeat their wrongly such as people dumping trash into the river, industrial activity and ships sailing across the sea.

Apart from that, water pollution also may come from a number of different sources, such as an oil spill from ships, it is called point source pollution. If the pollution comes from many sources, it is called non-point source pollution such as mining waste.

The contaminated water also houses and contains viruses, bacteria, intestinal parasites and other harmful microorganisms which can originate waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, typhoid and dysentery. Due to the water pollution, the entore ecosystem is being disturbed. So in this case, government tends to be control them by take action like penalty with large amount. So that they only will noticed the awareness of the danger.
In conclusion, there has the action that we can do to help keep our clean water. We can prevent water pollution of nearby rivers and lakes as well as groundwater and drinking water by follow the simple guidelines in our everyday life such as conserve water by turning off the tap when running water is not necessary. This helps prevent water shortages and reduces the amount of contaminated water that needs treatment. Besides that, we also have to be careful what we throw down in our sink or toilet to prevent water be contaminated. Last but not least, we have to use the environmentally household products such as household cleaning agents and toiletries.
